BRUNHILDE OTTO: "BRUNI"

Brunhilde Otto is a first-time actress and the actual childhood girlfriend of Jose Luis Perez Restrepo, the real-life man whom the character Gabriel Rojas is based on. Elements of Gabriel & Bruni's young romance are factual, and there is one pivotal scene in which Brunhilde essentially recreates a moment she shared with Jose Luis's sons (Bastards writer/actor Andrew Perez & associate producer David Nayan) in the exact room where it actually took place. In interviews at LAFF during the Bastards y Diablos premiere, Bruni admitted that certain scenes in the film affected her more deeply during the filming of Bastards y Diablos than they did in real life. "It didn't feel like we were making a movie... it just felt like we were sharing this very special time together." Her performance perfectly encapsulates the vision that the Bastards y Diablos creative team set out to create of an emoti-core docu-fiction: actors blending seamlessly with non-actors, drama colliding deeply with nonfiction. Bruni splits her time between Santa Marta, Bogota, & Vienna.
